How to play roulette?

Online roulette is a simple, but one of the most popular Online casino games. The roulette game is played with a roulette wheel. This wheel contains 37 (European rules) or 38 (US rules) coloured and numbered compartments. These numbers are 1-36, 0, and 00. The dealer (also known as the croupier) spins a roulette wheel in one direction, while rolls a ball into the wheel in the opposite direction. The winning number is determined by where the ball comes to rest amongst all the compartments.

How to Play Roulette?

Select an initial Bet amount and click on any of the designated betting areas to place your chips. A minimum of $1 must be placed on the table before the wheel can be spun. There is a maximum limit of $100 on the table. To help you place bets, a small display at the bottom of your screen will indicate all the positions you will be betting on as you move your mouse over the table. Once your bets are placed, click the ‘Spin’ button to start the wheel spinning. Bets cannot be made or removed once the wheel starts spinning.

In the spinning wheel, the pairs of odd numbers are alternated with pairs of even numbers. These numbers are lined up into three columns of twelve numbers each. The remaining area is dedicated to betting, which itself can be broken down into two categories, inside bets and outside bets. To start, the player must purchase chips on a credit card to bet with, before selecting a number or lettered box to bet on.

Bets can be placed on individual numbers, groups of numbers, or a specific colour on the wheel depending on whether the winning number turns out to be odd or even.

The Different Types of Bet

1. Inside Bets

• Corner Bet (also ‘Square’ or ‘Four Number’): This bets that one of four numbers will hit, and pays 8-1. Place the chip in the centre of four touching numbers.
• Five Number Bet: Bets that the 0, 00, 1, 2 or 3 will be hit on the next role. This pays 6-1. Place the chip on the outside line that divides the 0 and the 1.
• Six Line Bet: Bets that one of six numbers in two adjacent rows will come up, and pays 6-1. Place the chip between two rows on the outside line.
• Split Bet: Bets that one of two numbers next to each other will be hit. Pays 17-1. Place the chip on the line separating two numbers.
• Straight Bet: Bets that a particular number will come up and pays 35-1. Place the chip on top of the number.
• Street Bet (also ‘Trio’ or ‘Three Numbers’): Bets that any number on a particular row will hit on the next spin, and pays 6-1. Place chip on the outside line of the row you choose.

2. Outside Bets

• Black: You’re basically betting that the ball will land on black. This pays 1-1, and is done by placing your chip on the box marked ‘black’.
• Column: Bets that a number in a particular column will come up in the next spin, and pays 2-1. Place a chip below your column where it’s marked ’2-1′.
• Dozen: Divides the table into the numbers 1-12, 13-24, and 25-36. Place your chip in one of the three boxes marked ’1st 12′, ’2nd 12′ or ’3rd 12′ .This pays 2 to 1.
• Even: Bets that the ball will land on an even number, not including 0 or 00, and pays 1-1. Place a chip on the ‘even’ box.
• High Bet: Bets that the next number will be between 19 and 36. The payout is 1-1. Place chip in the ‘high’ box.
• Red: Bets on any red number, and pays 1-1, and is done by placing chip on the ‘red’ box.
• Low: Bets that the next number is between 1 and 18, and is done by putting chip in ‘low’ box. It pays 1-1.

Players can also change their bets. However, the amount of bet should be lesser than a player’s account balance. As bets are being placed, the dealer spins the Roulette ball in the opposite direction of the spinning wheel. Wagers may be placed until the dealer announces ” no more bets.” At this time, all that’s left to do is wait for the ball to land on a number. Once it does, the dealer places a marker on the winning number and pays the winning wagers.

Roulette is a game of luck, so a person must observe his limits. Too much indulgence in the game can lead to heavy losses.
